Dorothy "Dot" Lucille Williams (Bales), 84, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 in Mobile, AL.



Born on April 22, 1932, in Batesville, AR, she was the daughter of the late Hubert W. and Lelia Louise Bales (Ghormely).



She married Chester "Chet" Ray Williams in Batesville, AR on December 12, 1947. After moving to Little Rock, AR in 1957 she attended Draughon Business College then began working for Alexander's Machine Shop as a bookkeeper. Dorothy "Dot" Lucille Williams (Bales), 84, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 in Mobile, AL.



Born on April 22, 1932, in Batesville, AR, she was the daughter of the late Hubert W. and Lelia Louise Bales (Ghormely).



She married Chester "Chet" Ray Williams in Batesville, AR on December 12, 1947. After moving to Little Rock, AR in 1957 she attended Draughon Business College then began working for Alexander's Machine Shop as a bookkeeper. She went on to work at Blass Department Store and later at Dillard's in Accounts Payable. In 1978, the couple moved to Las Vegas, NV where she made a home for over twenty-five years. In 2007, Dorothy returned to Little Rock, AR for several years before moving to Mobile, AL with her daughter in 2013.



Dorothy enjoyed cooking and preparing meals, especially Southern cuisine. She had a passion for sewing, and would make beautiful little girl dresses for her granddaughter. She adored Elvis and over the years she enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia and watching his movies. She enjoyed shopping for clothes and finding a great bargain. Dorothy was compassionate and generous, and way always willing to help her neighbors or anyone in need. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and often gave to the Little Rock Compassion Center.



Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jamie Ishmael and her husband Gary of Mobile, AL; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie and Davin of Little Rock, AR, 3 great-grandchildren Asia, Darion and Ana, and 3 nephews, Lynn, David and Mark. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Chester, her son Thomas Michael "Mike" Williams, her sister Elizabeth Joan Shields all of Las Vegas, NV, and two nephews, Burt and Mathew.
