Charles Edward Stewart Sr., age 85, passed away Saturday, August 5th, 2017 in his residence surrounded by family and friends.



Charles was born in Lake Mississippi and a longtime resident of Mobile and Eight Mile Alabama. Mr. Stewart served 21 years in the United States Air Force; he was a decorated Vietnam Veteran and proudly served his Country. Mr. Stewart then went on to retired from the State of Alabama.

Charles was born in Lake Mississippi and a longtime resident of Mobile and Eight Mile Alabama. Mr. Stewart served 21 years in the United States Air Force; he was a decorated Vietnam Veteran and proudly served his Country. Mr. Stewart then went on to retired from the State of Alabama.



Ed will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend. To know and talk with him was an experience like no other. Between his jokes and good humor he would give life lessons and wisdom, which always left you with a smile on your face. His fighting spirit and love for life will be one of the many gifts that he shared with the people closest to him.



He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his sister Frances Ellegood, and brothers Joe and Kenny Stewart. He also leaves behind son Chuck Stewart, daughters Kathy Cannon, Becky Grider, and Dottie Uphaus, thirteen Grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley Stewart, two daughters Cindy Stewart and Debbie Sabor.
